Edina High School student achieves perfect score on ACT

Edina, Minn., April 16, 2009 – They say nobody’s perfect, but one Edina High School student is proving that you can achieve perfection---at least on the ACT exam. Silas Wallen-Friedman took the college admissions and placement exam in February and scored a 36---a perfect score. Only one other student in Minnesota achieved this top score. Wallen-Friedman is one of 46 students in the nation to receive a perfect ACT score.

“We are very excited for Silas and his perfect score on the ACT,” said Edina High School Principal Bruce Locklear. “This score is indicative of Silas’ hard work and commitment to his education, which will pay off as he begins planning for the next phase of his academic career.”

Silas’ ACT score qualifies him to attend the most selective colleges and universities in the nation, according to Richard Ferguson, CEO and Chairman of the Board of the ACT. Ferguson added that Silas’ ACT score indicates he will have “the widest possible range of future educational options from which to choose.”
