Edina Education Fund to Host Second Annual Show & Tell Lunch & Program

Edina, Minn., Jan. 05, 2009 – The Edina Education Fund will host its second annual Show & Tell Lunch & Program on Monday, Jan. 26, 2009 at Edina High School in the commons area (enter door 7). Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and the official program runs from 12-1 p.m. The purpose of the event is to educate the community on the different ways the Edina Ed Fund supports Edina Public Schools. A free lunch will be provided, but attendees are encouraged to make a contribution to the Ed Fund.

Established in 1995, the Ed Fund serves as a vast and critical resource for Edina Public Schools (EPS). The hallmark of the Ed Fund is the Innovative Grant Program, which has greatly enriched classrooms across the District. Innovative grants support teachers, staff and students by providing funding for equipment, artwork, technology enhancements, software upgrades and so much more.

The Ed Fund also supports the broader District in various ways. It provides grants and initiatives that assist the District with producing innovative curriculum. Perhaps the most unique aspect of the Ed Fund is its ability to bridge EPS with its alumni. This effort is best demonstrated through the Alumni Hall of Fame event. The annual celebration honors the Edina staff and alumni who have made a positive and measurable difference in the world.

During the Show & Tell Lunch & Program, the Ed Fund will share its most cherished success stories and discuss its plans for the future. Those interested in attending should RSVP by contacting Sue Carlson at 952-848-4224 or suecarlson@edina.k12.mn.us.
