FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Edina Public Schools Hires Nicole Larson Tuescher as Edina, Minn., August 28, 2008 – Edina Public Schools is pleased to announce that Nicole Larson Tuescher has been hired as the human resources manager. Tuescher most recently worked at Ratwik, Roszak and Maloney in Minneapolis as an associate attorney and law clerk. In this position, she assisted schools in adhering to legal mandates and conducted investigations into employment and student misconduct allegations against schools. Tuescher was also a legal research and writing tutor and research assistant for the Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul. Prior to these roles, she taught social studies at Irvington High School in California, Blaine High School and St. John’s Episcopal School in Guam. Tuescher is currently a member of the Council of School Attorneys for the National School Board and Minnesota School Board Associations. She organized Hamline law students to volunteer for the Kids Voting Project through the Hennepin County Bar Association and was chosen to represent law students on the Ramsey County Youth and Law Committee. As part of the Minnesota Justice Foundation, she aided the Minnesota Supreme Court in the Children Justice Initiative Bench Book. Tuescher also attends seminars on various legal issues that schools face through the Education Law Association. Over the years, she has given presentations on religious accommodation in schools, reauthorization of state law and cell phones and cameras in schools. Tuescher received a Bachelor of Arts in social studies and secondary education with a minor in French from the University of St. Thomas. She then attended the University of Guam for graduate education studies. After returning from Guam she received a Juris Doctorate from the Hamline University School of Law and a Master of Arts in Educational Policy and Administration from the University of Minnesota, where she is currently a doctoral candidate. ### |
