FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Edina Public Schools hires Jenny Johnson as assistant principal Edina, Minn., April 28, 2009 – Edina Public Schools is pleased to announce that Jenny Johnson has been hired as the assistant principal of Edina High School. Most recently, Johnson worked as activities director for Edina Public Schools. In this position, she was responsible for all activities in the high school and middle schools including athletics, fine arts and clubs. Johnson also had oversight of the intramural programs and created student sportsmanship procedures. Previously, Johnson served as interim assistant principal and dean of students at Edina High School for two years. Prior to those positions she was a mathematics teacher and head girls’ basketball coach for several years. Johnson is currently the executive director of the Minnesota Girls’ Basketball Coaches Association that recognizes the achievement of outstanding student athletes. She is also the owner and director of Arrowood Basketball Camp. For the past 20 years, young girls have had the opportunity to attend the camp to develop basketball skills and be an effective team member. Johnson will begin her duties on July 1, 2009. ### |
