School Closings
Each year, a parent or guardian completes an Early Dismissal Emergency Information Form for each child at Concord. This form provides a record of the parent’s or guardian’s instructions for the child in the event of early dismissal; (for example, go to Kids Club, go home on the bus as assigned, other). It includes a section to describe what the child is to do if he or she arrives home and an adult is not there. Please make sure your child knows what to do if school closes early and you are not at home.
If students are dismissed early because of adverse weather conditions (snow emergencies, excessive heat, etc.), buses will be dispatched to take students home on their regular routes unless you have indicated alternate arrangements on the Early Dismissal Emergency Information Form.
For most emergencies that are not weather related, students will be evacuated to the Edina Community Center, 5701 Normandale Road. If students are unable to return to the school building, the school will inform parents with phone calls and announcements on radio and television. We will hold all students at the Community Center until a parent or guardian is reached.
